Cayamo - September Recap

Cayamo - September Recap

Friday, October 4, 2024

As September rolls in, it often heralds a transition—a soft shift from the vibrant chaos of summer to the more introspective vibe of fall. This year, September felt particularly quiet, offering a serene pause before the hustle and bustle of the holiday season begins.

While this month may not have been filled with the usual updates and excitement in our precious corner of the world, I promise that the silence was not in vain. Our Sixthman Office has used the last two months as a chance to curate new ideas, explore fresh perspectives, and gather inspiration that I can’t wait to share with you. I appreciate your patience during this quieter month, and while the promises we made weren't quite delivered upon, I’m committed to bringing you engaging and meaningful content moving forward.

AMERICANAFEST 2024

In September one of my favorite traditions kicks off: Americanafest. As it is every year, the festival is more than just a celebration of music; it was a heartwarming reunion and a chance to forge new friendships.

Americanafest draws music lovers, artists, and industry folks from all over. The excitement is palpable as we gather in Nashville, a city steeped in musical history and creativity. For many of us, it’s not just about the performances; it’s an opportunity to reconnect with friends we haven’t seen in ages and to meet new faces who share our passion for the Americana sound.

This year, we had a great turnout for our annual OUT/CAY Americanafest Meetup! It is always the highlight the week getting to spend time with familiar faces, meet new ones, and just BE together. If you've ever been curious to know more about this magical week in Tennessee, please ask one of these regulars! We'd love to have you join us in 2025!

Our Cayamo Alumni also won big at the 2024 Americana Music Honors & Awards. Congratulations to all our winners + nominees, who continue to make us proud!

Winners: Brandy Clark (Album of the Year) & Larkin Poe (Duo/Group of the Year)
Nominees: Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, Charley Crockett, Allison Russell, The War & Treaty, Sarah Jarosz, Waxahatchee

News from the Cayamo Family FB Group

While we might have been quiet, our Cayamo Family has been anything BUT! Our crew has hosted house concerts, been to festivals, gotten together with Cayamoans from out of town, and so much more.

Until next month, take care of yourselves and one another!
