Holly Williams, the granddaughter of the great Hank Williams and the daughter of the larger-than-life Hank Jr., honors rather than simply mirrors the family tradition of staunch individualism through her captivating lyrics and raw vocals. Her songs are musically closer to Coldplay than "Cold, Cold Heart," but even in her indie rock singer-songwriter guise, she prizes the unvarnished truth as she sees it, just like her famous daddy and granddaddy. Her critically acclaimed debut album "The Ones We Never Knew" was released in late 2004. After a tour through the US, UK and Europe she prepared to start on her new record. Her and her sister were in a life threatening car accident in March 2006 and spent awhile recovering, after 6 months Holly began preparing to start playing guitar again and writing songs. She has just recently signed with MCA/Lost highway and her new record will be out in spring 2008. See www.hollywilliams.com for more info on this unique and talented artist... |
