Twelve-time Grammy award winner Emmylou Harris has been hailed as a major figure in several of America’s most important musical movements of the past three decades, influencing the advents and resurgences of "Cosmic American Music," country-rock, the bluegrass revival, folk music, and Americana, carving out a sound uniquely her own along the way. Emmylou Harris certainly has carved out a sound that is uniquely her own. During her more than 30-year career, which boasts more than 15 million records sold, Emmylou has consistently been lauded and admired interpreter of compelling songs, but it was with her last two studio albums, Red Dirt Girl and Stumble Into Grace, respectively, that her songwriting talents were revealed. A steadfast supporter of -- and leader in --  roots music, Harris has a diverse array of admiring collaborators, from Bob Dylan, The Band, Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen. to Bright Eyes, Elvis Costello, Beck and The Pretenders. Her most recent collaboration was her Grammy-nominated duets record with Mark Knopfler, All The Roadrunning.  Harris will be releasing a 4-CD and 1-DVD boxed set on September 18, 2007, titled Songbird: Rare Tracks and Forgotten Gems, which offers a comprehensive look at Harris' incredible career, from her 1970 debut, Gliding Bird and her days with Gram Parsons through her more recent material, including work from All The Roadrunning, and also featuring many previously unreleased tracks, demos and outtakes.
