CLAIRE WYNDHAM

Described as a 'melodically gifted songstress with a big future,' Australian singer/songwriter Claire Wyndham has been turning heads since her first public performance in 2002. Within twelve months she had played showcases at Australia's premier music venue, "The Basement," performed with the likes of Ben Harper, Jack Johnson and Kasey Chambers at the East Coast Blues and Roots Festival, had a song included on the soundtrack of Aussie surf film, "Liquid Bridge," and professionally recorded five of her songs. Not bad - this is one young lady who doesn't muck around.

Claire has spent music of 2007 focusing on the US market, having started off the year playing on the world's greatest floating music festival, "The Rock Boat," along with Sister Hazel, Emerson Hart, Collective Soul and Josh Kelley, where she was the first Australian artist ever to be placed on the bill. She followed that up with a two month long tour in August/September 2007 to launch the album, playing 25 shows all over the country, including a 3 week support slot for fellow Rock Boat band, Oval Opus.

Now, with her first official release, Claire has come a long way since that first performance. With an undeniable stage presence and incredibly comfortable in front of any audience, she's ready to do whatever it takes to follow her passion. Claire doesn't stand out because she's trying to be something she's not. She stands out because she's honest. She sings the trust and her listeners relate to that. As Claire sings in her song, "Here was Blue," 'There was hurt, there was pain, there was pleasure, there was rain, there was you..' At times she's heartbroken, at times she's ecstatic, and aren't we all?
